TV5MONDE and SONIFI Solutions Reach Major National Hotel Channel Deal

LOS ANGELES (June 21, 2016) — TV5MONDE today announced that it has launched TV5MONDE Voyage — a lifestyle network geared to travelers as part of a new agreement with SONIFI Solutions, Inc., the leader in innovative digital engagement technology solutions for the hospitality industry.

TV5MONDE Voyage, a French language HD channel subtitled in English, is immediately available nationally in the majority of America’s 4- and 5-star hotels representing approximately 280,000 rooms, offering a wide variety of lifestyle programming that can be viewed at all the prominent hospitality brands.

Said TV5MONDE General Manager Yves Bigot, “We are thrilled to partner with SONIFI Solutions to bring a taste of the TV5MONDE to travelers who stay at these prominent hotel brands across America. Our hope is that when they get back to their homes within the U.S., they will want to continue to watch our programming.”

Part of the “free to guest” in-room package, TV5MONDE Voyage will air the best programming focusing on the categories of fashion, lifestyles, gastronomy and travel found on the flagship network TV5MONDE USA. A few examples of the initial HD programming airing on TV5MONDE Voyage:

Epicerie Fine – Michelin-starred chef Guy Martin presents iconic products associated with France and provides an overview of the experts who work with them. An encounter with passionate food lovers without whom French cuisine would not be what it is today.

Tendance XXI – French creativity is booming in the fields of fashion, crafts, design, beauty and gastronomy. Showcases the know-how that evolves in tune with the times, sometimes even anticipating them.

Version Française – Passionate about French chic, ambassadress Katherina Marx surrounds herself with major figures from the worlds of fashion, design, gastronomy, and fine living. Each episode features an iconic guest and a series of special reports, allowing viewers to discover or rediscover France, its young designers, and its chic and trendy hang-outs.

Rendez Vous d’Amérique – The magazine show that covers Francophone cultural news in America.

Artisans de Luxe – Discover the history of luxury goods and about the attentive work and ancestral know-how developed by those who make these products with passion.

Écho Logis – A round-the-world review of spectacular, innovative and clever ecological solutions for living spaces, Écho-logis (Echo-houses) meets men and women who welcome us into their original homes.

Villes Metiers D’art – The country of France cultivates a wide variety of talent and has both preserved traditions while encouraging new trends. Explore a journey of artistic excellence through various French cities and their specialties including tableware, jewelry, stained glass, gilding, bell foundry, metalwork, woodwork, enamel, and textile.

Peuples Montagne – Mountains, people, stories… A fascinating, threatening, fragile and mysterious world. “Les peuples des montagnes” (The people of the mountains) presents the countryside, the magnificent places and the populations, living in harmony with nature, proud of their culture and their traditions.

As part of TV5MONDE’s agreement with SONIFI, a branded video-on-demand channel has also been launched. TV5MONDE Cinema – providing travelers with the best in recently released French films.

Added TV5MONDE’s Mr. Bigot, “The launch of TV5MONDE Cinema further reinforces TV5MONDE’s leadership position in bringing the best of French feature films to U.S. television viewing audiences. The interest in and the influence of the French language cinema remains very strong, making this the perfect time to premiere of this new on-demand platform.”

A sampling of some of the film titles to be available at launch include: La Loi Du Marché, for which Vincent Lindon won Best Actor in at the 2015 Cannes Film Festival; in Floride (Jean Rochefort, Sandrine Kiberlain) an elderly man grapples with increasing bouts of forgetfulness and confusion in this comedy; L’Hermine (Fabrice Luchini, Sidse Babett Knudsen) profiles a most feared judge of the Assize Court; and, Je Suis Un Soldat (Louise Bourgoin, Jean-Hugues Anglade) a drama about a women forced to return home begins working in her family’s kennels.
